M Health Fairview is determined to help change that, with deep and sustained investments in health equity for our patients, the communities we serve, and each other.
In 2020, our health system began a multiyear, transformational effort to increase health equity across Minnesota and to make the systemic changes necessary to become an antiracist, inclusive health system. Here are a few examples of what this commitment looks like:
- M Health Fairview established the HOPE Commission in 2020. The commission is a multiyear transformational change effort to drive more equitable outcomes and inclusive environments and experiences for our patients, employees, and communities.
- Launched in 2022, the Center for Community Health Equity aims to create racial and health equity in Minnesota’s community health outcomes through M Health Fairview’s role as a health system. The center forms a bridge between the health system’s assets and resources and community’s assets and resources to move beyond the clinical setting and address social determinants of health.
- Our wide-ranging diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives look inside our system, from cultural competency training to leadership diversity programs, and much more.
- From our data to our locations, we're transforming in ways large and small to increase health equity and access across our system.
