Contacting Your Health Insurance Provider
Whether you're thinking about switching to a new pediatrician or seeking pediatric specialty care, it's important to find a caring expert who understands your child - and who is covered under your health insurance plan. Fortunately, M Health Fairview Pediatrics providers are in-network on many insurance plans.
Your insurance provider is a key partner in ensuring a good healthcare experience. Before scheduling an appointment for your child, we strongly recommend that you contact your insurer to find out whether:
- Your insurance coverage is active.
- The provider you are visiting, and the service you need, are all covered and in your network. In network coverage can change from year to year.
- You need a referral or a prior authorization for your upcoming visit, or if they have already been secured for you.
- Pre-payment is required for your care. If pre-payment is needed, we will collect it (co-payments, co-insurance, unmet deductibles, and other charges that insurance won't cover) upon registration.
- Your insurer can issue a cost-of-care estimate for you. Cost estimates from insurance companies are more likely to be closer to your tru financial liability because insurers are able to speak to their terms and conditions and have access to the latest information about your coverage, including your deductible and out-of-pocket maximums.
