The Fairview System Credentialing Office (FSCO) handles the credentialing, reappointment, and privileging process for providers. It supports medical staff by conducting a thorough, accurate verification and review of credentials while also monitoring licenses, insurance, and board certification. FSCO is the key point of entry for providers who wish to be credentialed with M Health Fairview Pediatrics.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Opportunities
Our partnership with the University of Minnesota means we can offer a broad range of continuing medical education (CME) opportunities for all healthcare professionals. Some opportunities include virtual or asynchronous participation options. Coming together as a group of dedicated pediatric healthcare experts and learning from each other strengthens our ability to deliver the best evidence-based care to our patients.

Pediatric Grand Rounds are designed to improve the broad practice of pediatric medicine, including patient care, healthcare research, medical education, public health, and innovation. Every Wednesday, pediatric professionals throughout the community gather for learning opportunities offered by M Health Fairview Pediatrics. Pediatric Grand Rounds sessions are open to the public, and most presentation materials are posted online for review. Continuing medical education (CME) credits are available to those who watch live online – and CME credits are also available for those who watch asynchronously after the live event.
Provider Ten-Step Education
A limited number of seats are available at an institutional rate for M Health Fairview physicians, resident physicians, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and others in this three- to four-hour online program designed for maternal-infant healthcare providers who work with expectant and new families and their babies. The course focuses on the healthcare provider's role in caring for pregnant and new families and is designed to help hospitals and communities provide the basics of early breastfeeding care and management of breastfeeding challenges, with a focus on implementing the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding.

Excellence in Care with the Ten Steps
This 15-hour online program advances evidence-based infant feeding policies and practices in the hospital or clinic. It also provides the education cornerstone for hospitals that wish to pursue the "Baby-Friendly" designation. This workshop explores the rapidly changing role of all healthcare professionals in caring for pregnant and new families and is designed to help hospitals and communities provide the basics of early breastfeeding care, with a focus on implementing The Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding.

Other professional education opportunities in breastfeeding and lactation
Occasionally, M Health Fairview Pediatrics hosts or refers medical staff to a more intensive course on evidence-based breastfeeding and lactation care. This course may also serve as the beginning of the process for becoming an international board certified lactation consultant.

This interdisciplinary seminar series, presented by Masonic Cancer Center, provides a venue for basic science and clinical researchers to learn about cutting-edge work in all areas of cancer. The series features invited speakers and Masonic Cancer Center faculty with expertise in selected topics related to cancer.

Cardiovascular Grand Rounds
Physicians and other medical professionals can stay up to date on the latest developments in cardiology during weekly Cardiovascular Grand Rounds meetings, held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays via Zoom. Grand Rounds present evolving diagnosis and treatment in heart care and provide a relevant, in-depth review of important cardiovascular topics.

A history of academic research excellence
Founded in 1888, the University of Minnesota Medical School draws on 135 years of medicine through education, scientific discovery, and compassionate care. Part of one of the premier academic health centers in the nation, it is home to the world’s first stem cell institute, and the place where the world’s first successful open-heart surgery using hypothermia took place – as well as the world’s first successful allogenic bone marrow transplant. The world’s first external pacemaker was also created here.
