There are many kinds of heart valve disease. Some affect your aortic valve that directs blood to your aorta. Others affect the mitral valve, which is found between the left atrium and left ventricle.
Three M Health Fairview Heart Care cardiologists have been board-certified in adult congenital heart disease since 2015, the first year that adult congenital heart disease was recognized as a cardiology subspecialty by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Our C.O.R.E. Clinic was created in 2003 as an outpatient disease management program to help patients with heart failure or cardiomyopathy manage their illness.
M Health Fairview surgeons perform 20 to 30 heart transplants annually in children and adults, making our program among the top 15 percent in the United States.
