We stabilize and help manage acutely and critically ill patients in situations requiring life support; mechanical ventilation; extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO); heart surgery; heart transplant; solid organ transplant; specialized ear, nose and throat (ENT) procedures; toxicity or poisoning; serious wounds and infections; acute asthma; and other serious cardiac, pulmonary, infectious, neurologic, or traumatic illness. The pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) serves M Health Fairview Pediatrics’ robust programs in pediatric surgery, as well as bone marrow and solid organ transplantation.
